Is 14k gold-filled right for you?

Gold-filled jewelry is composed of a solid layer of gold which must constitute at least 5% of the item's total weight, mechanically bonded to a base metal.

Our gold-filled tie bars have a layer of 14k gold on the front and back, with exposed base metal at the edges. They’re a great option for most, but if you have a brass sensitivity, we recommend choosing solid 14k gold instead.

General Care (All Finishes)

  • Avoid contact with lotions, perfumes, chemicals, and chlorinated water.
  • Store jewelry in an airtight container to slow tarnish.
  • Remove jewelry before swimming, bathing, or working with harsh products.

Polished, Satin & Gold (Sterling Silver, Gold-Filled, 14k Solid Gold)

  • Tarnish may appear as metal reacts with air and moisture.
  • Use a jewelry polishing cloth or dip to clean polished and gold pieces.
  • For satin sterling silver, gently rub with a Scotch-Brite pad to refresh the finish.

Antiqued Sterling Silver

  • Finished by hand to create a vintage, well-loved look.
  • Easy to maintain—lightly rub with a Scotch-Brite pad if yellowing occurs.
  • Avoid polishing cloths and dips to preserve the antiqued effect.
